Car Accident
My car has a cheap car insurance. In the parking lot of a big mall waiting for me as I did my shopping, I came out to find it heavily damaged with the front fender dangling on one side. It was clearly a hit-and-run case.
I am very lucky to have read the provisions of my policy and know the procedures of filing a valid car accident claim. So, calling my insurance carrier, I told them where I was, where the accident took place, requested to take note of the time and how my car looked. I also informed the operator of the mall who called for the local authorities. While waiting for the officers to arrive, I took pictures of my car with my mobile phone which is a requirement for filing a claim. Of course, the mall has security cameras installed but I didn’t take chances. With the pictures I took showing the extent of damage to my car, the police report and my grocery receipt which had the date and time in it, I went to my insurance carrier and filed my claim. Having a good coverage makes filing a claim uncomplicated and I got paid for repairs to a repair shop of my choice. Of course my coverages didn’t come cheap but in the long run it was cheap car insurance.
