Case Study: Epson Stylus S21 Inkjet
Budget Epson printers of the past has always had a very cheap feel to them and it seems Epson have addressed this with the Stylus S21. The built quality of the machine gives a very good first impressive. Another problem with budget printers is the cost of the printer ink cartridges and judging by the cost of the genuine Epson S21 ink cartridges this is still an issue. A cheaper alternative is to use compatible printer cartridges, which are widely available for the Stylus S21 and they’re a faction of the cost. The quality of print produced by the S21 is very good for such a cheap printer, not only does it print all the usual general documents like letters and emails but also high quality photos with pin sharp results. In order to achieve this high quality of print however requires the S21 to be in a reasonably high quality setting and as a result it makes the speed very slow. Even the most expensive inkjet printers are not fast at printing but the Stylus S21 is especially slow with small photo print taking over five minutes from start to finish in the highest quality setting. The speed is about the only thing that lets the S21 down but it is so slow that it becomes a big let down especially if your printing high volumes of documents in which case the S21 is simply unsuitable. The Stylus S21 is best suited to people who print regularly but in small quantities.
